Memphis Athletic Ministries
MAM provides year-round, Christ-centered mentoring programs with well-trained staff to youth, ages 8 to 18, at eight centers located in low-income neighborhoods. This is done in partnership with families, schools and other community organizations.
Our Approach Includes:1. Attracting participation by using organized sports to draw neighborhood youth to MAM centers. 2. Creating a nurturing environment through small mentoring groups led by MAM staff to share the love of Jesus Christ and foster healthy relationships. 3. Providing comprehensive programs that address the physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs of youth. 4. Promoting community involvement by organizing community-wide sports activities in order to bring about socio-economic and racial reconciliation.

what we do
Each day youth participate in recreation activities in a structured, safe environment with adult role models and supervision.
Daily group devotionals take place at our gyms to give all youth the opportunity to hear a gospel message.
Through our partnerships with Literacy Mid-South and the Jay Uiberall Foundation, youth are improving their reading comprehension and vocabulary in our gyms through daily literacy classes.
amplify mentor program
Youth benefit from a one-on-one relationship with a caring adult who helps them navigate their high school years, and more importantly, the transition from high school to employment, military, or college. This program consists of character development, setting goals, ACT prep, college prep, and career readiness training.
We offer basketball, flag football, soccer, and volleyball for youth to compete in fun, safe, and exciting sports leagues.
During the summer, upcoming 3rd through 8th graders participate in academic lessons, recreation, life skills training, and fun field trips.
