Memphis Delta Prep is a public, tuition-free, open-enrollment, K-5 school in Memphis, TN. The mission of Memphis Delta Preparatory (MDP) Charter School is to support and grow productive and well-rounded citizens who will succeed in college and beyond. MDP opened its doors in August of 2016 and currently serves 380+ students in grades K-5. In at full capacity, MDP will serve 480 students in grades K-5. MDP is committed to closing racial and economic achievement gaps in a meaningful way – not only as measured through elementary and secondary standardized test scores, but more importantly, through post-secondary degree attainment.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Student Information Management Coordinator (SIM) is a twelve-month salaried position. The incumbent is responsible for compiling, maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of student and school records and activities.

Additionally, this person will collect and analyze information necessary for the completion and submission of a variety of reports; assisting auditors, office assistant, and school personnel throughout the year in completing computer data inputs and auditing procedures. The SIM Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring that reporting deadlines are met and that the reports are accurate, while working independently against short term deadlines with a high degree of functionality. The SIM Coordinator will identify students of concern based on student attendance data, identify barriers to attendance via family outreach, and develop a plan of action moving forward which may include school based and/or community based resources. The SIM Coordinator will
manage student recruitment and enrollment.

Reporting: Reports to the Director of Operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Student Information System & Records
• Maintenance of school PowerSchool database including but not limited to enrollment, demographic information, staff, and state/federal information.
• Ensure that PowerSchool is accurate and up to date by regularly conducting data verification extracts/reports to remain accurate and up to date in compliance.
• Develop standard weekly, biweekly and monthly reports including but not limited to weekly enrollment, attendance, and staff credentials for ongoing management needs.
• Prepares customized reports for internal school needs and assists in school’s accountability and audits reporting.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations to ensure that all student information is kept confidential except as required by legal order.
• Coordinates with the Executive Director, SPED Compliance Coordinator, and Social Worker to ensure court and other legal requests are accurate and within time frame allotted.

Student Information Management (SIM) Coordinator

• Works with Building Testing Coordinator to ensure all appropriate data is accurate and available for extraction, if needed, for TN Ready.
• Ensure accurate recording of reimbursable meal counts at the point of service (POS).
• Works with site staff to ensure appropriate number of meals are ordered.
• Prepares a monthly report comparing the meal counts to ordered amounts.
• Administer and coordinate the preparation of various reports as required by federal, state, and District policy.
• Ensure the accuracy of all information uploaded into EIS.
• Submits and certifies data for school assigned by EIS deadlines.
• Attends Professional Development and Training Sessions with the Director of Operations.
• Provides support and training for school staff to ensure smooth operations and processes when collecting and reporting on student information.
• Prepares regular and special compliance reports and data audits for the management team.
• Identifies students of concern based on student attendance data
• Drives the Attendance Monitoring Team
• Identifies barriers to student attendance
• Develops, implements, and monitors a plan to eliminate barriers via school based and/or community resources.
• Manages student recruitment and enrollment

QUALIFICATIONS
• Two years of work experience at least one of which is data entry or a year of work directly related to a computer system which requires knowledge of editing and completing source data or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in K-12 education preferred.
• Ability to work school operating hours, normally 7:15am to 4:15pm. However, occasional evenings and weekends may be required as determined by the Executive Director.
• Experience in developing and delivering end user training for data systems, and relational databases and data management processes.

SKILLS
• Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) is essential.
• Ability to operate office equipment such as printer, copier, multiline phone system, and fax machine.
• Ability to prioritize duties to meet school needs.
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and exercise independent judgment in correcting data errors or omissions.
• Ability to analyze information to produce a variety of state mandated reports.
• Ability to type at least 50 words per minute.
• Must be able to prepare and write reports in a logical and professional manner
• Provide documentation of eligibility to work in US and pass a background check.
