College Summer Staff

Website SOS Memphis

What can you expect on Summer Staff?

Join our Summer Staff and get ready to experience a summer you’ll always remember: Staff Teams out in the neighborhood tackling roof replacement projects (no experience necessary! really!), seeking to learn together and from others, slathered in sunscreen, and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ all the while!

The SOS Full-Time Staff is all in to coach and invest in the Summer Staff family. It’s a job we hold dearly and take seriously. You can expect to be seen and cared for in this place as we practice living missionally together and shoulder-to-shoulder in Kingdom community.

What will you gain from this commitment?

God has consistently used SOS to change the lives of those of us who spend a summer (or more!) on staff. We trust and pray He will continue to use SOS to this end.

That can look like a lot of things: a more intimate relationship with Christ, growth in Bible literacy and fluency, practice in servant leadership, greater devotion to loving and serving and welcoming the marginalized, mentoring from boots-on-the-ground Gospel practitioners, intense relational and professional experience and skills from a unique, dynamic work environment that will serve you in your career, your relationships, and your care of your neighbor wherever you may go.

Are these paid positions?

Yes! Detailed payment information will be available when job descriptions are published.

Team Leaders are on-site, meaning staffers are offered room and board at SOS in addition to a weekly stipend. All other staff roles are off-site, though room and board can be provided.

And, of course!, staff shirts!

What’s the summer schedule?

Like any summer at SOS, the summer schedule includes staff training and wrap-up, with lots of workdays out in the neighborhood in between.

Pre-Summer Staff Training: TBD

Summer Camps (Sun-Fri): June 5-10, June 12-17, June 19-24, June 26-July 1, July 3-8

Post-Summer Staff Wrap-up: TBD

SOS will offer a robust calendar of personal development and community-building times and activities outside of the workweek hours.
