Cafe Manager

Vice & Virtue Coffee
The Cafe Manager will support the vision of Vice & Virtue Coffee by motivating employees to provide superior customer service while educating customers and employees on the intricacies of specialty coffee in a passionate and creative way. The Café Manager will support the owners in building a culture of excellence through individual accountability. You will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement, and turn our café into a favorite local spot.
Café Manager has the following responsibilities and duties:
•Manage day-to-day operations, including floor service as needed during peak rush hours.
•Hire and onboard new staff.
•Assist in the training process for new staff including drink preparation and customer service.
•Set and maintain pars, coordinate with vendors, and order supplies as needed.
•Support the implementation of new menu items and help ensure that café employees are educated and aware of any menu changes.
•Maintain staff schedule and manage labor costs.
•Maintain updated records such as the tip-allocation schedule.
•Ensure drink quality is maintained.
•Communicate with roastery and keep records of ordered coffee.
•Ensure café areas are kept clean and regular equipment maintenance is performed.
•Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation.
•Navigate and build collaborative, positive working relationships with Arrive Hotel Memphis staff.
Requirements:
Café Manager should have the following skills, education and experience:
•Experience in coffee required
•Attention to detail
•1-year managerial experience
•Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency while maintaining excellent customer service.
•A sense of humor and the ability to find fulfillment in engaging with staff and guests.
•Must be able to regularly and safely lift objects greater than 30lbs unassisted.
•Able to stand all day while frequently bending and twisting, occasionally kneeling, squatting, and light to moderate lifting.
